Our Story

GoArchaeo is run by Neil Faulkner and Roger Ward.
We have created GoArchaeo as a mechanism for developing further our joint passion for field archaeology and our deep commitment to access, inclusion, and making archaeology a life-enriching activity open to all.

Neil

Neil has been organising archaeological field projects for almost 30 years. An archaeologist, historian, writer, lecturer, and broadcaster, he is the Editor of Military History Monthly, the Founder-Director of the Sedgeford Historical and Archaeological Research Project, the Co-Director of the Great Arab Revolt Project, and the author of a dozen books, including, most recently, Lawrence of Arabia’s War and A Radical History of the World.
Roger

Roger is an IT and technical specialist, and archaeological surveyor. He first met Neil in the deserts of southern Jordan while working on the Great Arab Revolt Project. Roger became a leading member of the GARP Team, producing a blog for 8 seasons, as well as publishing articles, and now regularly gives talks on the project. Roger and Neil soon forged a close and enduring working relationship. He is also co-director of Military History Live with Neil.
